Losing weight is never easy, but it can be a little bit easier if you add turmeric to your diet. This easy turmeric smoothie for weight loss can help!
This easy smoothie contains only a few simple ingredients, and it’s perfect for a quick breakfast or snack. Plus, it tastes great and has a lot of health benefits, which we will explore here.
What is Turmeric?
Turmeric is a powerful spice that has many health benefits. Turmeric contains curcumin, which is a compound that has been shown to boost metabolism and reduce fat cells. Curcumin is also an anti-inflammatory compound, which can help to reduce inflammation throughout the body.
In addition to curcumin, turmeric also contains other compounds that are beneficial for health, including antioxidants and vitamins. These compounds help to boost the immune system, protect against disease, and improve overall health.
How Does Turmeric Help with Weight Loss?
Turmeric helps with weight loss in several ways. First, it helps to regulate metabolism. This means that your body will burn more calories throughout the day, which can lead to weight loss.
Second, turmeric helps to reduce inflammation throughout the body. This can lead to a reduction in water retention, which can also help with weight loss.
Why We Love This Easy Turmeric Smoothie Recipe
We love smoothies, and anytime we can add a superfood like turmeric it’s even better! The combination of tropical fruit with ginger and turmeric is a match made in heaven.
I also love to freeze this smoothie for smoothie pops! Not only is that a wonderful weight loss treat for me on a hot day, but my kids enjoy it, too. Even though they aren’t trying to lose weight, they still love this delicious smoothie (especially when it’s frozen).

Ingredients in Our Turmeric Smoothie for Weight Loss
Mango
Mango is my favorite fruit, and it’s super sweet and delicious in this smoothie. Mangoes are also a good source of fiber, which can help with weight loss.
You can use fresh or frozen mango in this recipe, but I personally hate to cut up mangoes, so I usually use frozen (plus frozen fruit is great for creamy smoothies). This makes it a mango turmeric smoothie.

Pineapple
Pineapple is another tropical fruit that goes great in this smoothie. Pineapples are high in fiber and vitamins, and they also contain bromelain, an enzyme that has anti-inflammatory properties.
Again, use fresh pineapple or frozen for this recipe. Even canned will work in a pinch, but I prefer frozen for this as well.

Lemon Juice
Lemon juice helps to brighten the flavors in this smoothie and it also has some great health benefits. Lemons are a good source of vitamin C, which is an antioxidant that can help to boost the immune system. Vitamin C can also help to reduce inflammation throughout the body.
You can juice a lemon like it calls for in the recipe, or use a tiny splash of store bought lemon juice.

Turmeric
Of course, we can’t forget the turmeric! You’ll want to use ground turmeric powder for this recipe, which you can find at any grocery store. As we mentioned before, turmeric is packed with anti inflammatory properties and it can help with weight loss.
If you have fresh turmeric root, you can grate it or chop it very finely and use that instead. Raw turmeric root can usually be found in the produce section of your grocery store.

Ginger
Ginger gives this smoothie a little bit of a zing, and it also has some great health benefits. Ginger is an anti-inflammatory compound that can help to reduce inflammation throughout the body. It’s also a good source of antioxidants, which can help to boost the immune system and it’s great for digestion.
You can use fresh or ground ginger for this recipe. If you are using fresh ginger, grate it or chop it very finely.

Water
Water helps to thin out the smoothie and make it easier to drink. You can use filtered water, spring water, or even just tap water if that’s what you have. Water is also no calorie!
Coconut water also works well with the other tropical fruits in this smoothie, and green tea is another great option – it also helps with weight loss!
How to Make Our Anti Inflammatory Turmeric Smoothie
This smoothie is so easy to make! Just add all of the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
You can add a little more water if you want it to be thinner, or add more ice if you want it to be thicker.
If you are using fresh fruit, you may need to add a little bit more sweetener. I like to use honey or agave nectar, but you could also use stevia or even just a little bit of sugar.
This smoothie is best enjoyed right away, but you can also store it in the fridge for a few hours if you need to.
If you do store it, just give it a good shake or stir before drinking.

How to Customize This Healthy Smoothie Recipe
Make it green: Add a handful of spinach or kale to this smoothie for an extra dose of vitamins and minerals. This will change it to a green smoothie, but for me, the greener the better!
Change the liquid: Use unsweetened almond milk or another plant-based milk in place of the water. We also like oat milk, coconut milk or even cashew milk. This will make it more like a golden milk, which is also delicious.
Make it protein-packed: Add a scoop of protein powder to this smoothie to help keep you full longer. Plus, protein has been proven to help with weight loss, so a scoop of unflavored, vanilla, or pineapple protein powder works well in this smoothie. Greek yogurt is another wonderful option for protein.
Add some healthy fat: Add a tablespoon of ground flax seed or chia seed, a bit of coconut oil or a few slices of avocado to this smoothie. This will help to make it more filling and satisfying.
Get your caffeine fix: Add a shot of espresso or some strong brewed coffee to this smoothie for an extra energy boost.
Make it sweeter: If you find that you need to sweeten this smoothie more, add a little honey, agave nectar or stevia. You could also add a splash of fruit juice, like orange juice or pineapple juice, or even a frozen banana.
Add other superfoods: If you want to boost the health benefits of this smoothie even more, add a teaspoon of maca powder, chia seed, hemp seed, a tablespoon of acai berry powder or a few drops of spirulina.
Thicken it up: Turn this amazing smoothie into a smoothie bowl! Add less liquid to your recipe to thicken it up and pour it into a bowl. Top your smoothie bowl with toppings of your choice such as chia seeds,
