This smoothie contains only a few simple ingredients: peaches, banana, yogurt, cinnamon and almond milk.

Why We Love This Creamy Peach Smoothie with Yogurt

My kids and I are huge smoothie fans, and creamy fruit smoothies are their favorites. We love trying all kinds of different smoothie recipes, and we have found a summertime favorite with this peach smoothie recipe!

We’ve been making it with fresh ripe peaches since they grow in our area and there is a peach orchard nearby, but in the off months we also make it with frozen peaches, and it’s equally delicious and even creamier thanks to the frozen fruit.

It also makes amazing smoothie pops if you have any left over! I usually have to make a batch specifically for smoothie pops because it gets eaten too fast otherwise.

Ingredients in Our Easy Peach Yogurt Smoothie Recipe

Peaches

Peaches are a wonderful source of vitamins A and C, as well as fiber. They are also low in calories and fat free, making them a great addition to any diet.

Like I mentioned above, you can use a nice fresh ripe peach or frozen sliced peaches in this recipe. Canned peaches can also work in a pinch.

Banana

Bananas are an excellent source of potassium and vitamin C. They are also a good source of dietary fiber.

Use a frozen banana in this smoothie. You’ll love the creaminess it adds and it also has just the right amount of sweetness. If you have a fresh banana on hand you can use it, but you might want to add a couple of ice cubes if you don’t have any frozen fruit.

Yogurt

Yogurt is a great source of protein, calcium and vitamin D. It’s also a probiotic, which means it’s good for your gut health.

I used plain Greek yogurt in this recipe, but you can use any kind of yogurt that you like. If you want to make it a little sweeter, try using vanilla yogurt or even peach yogurt. For our son who is allergic to dairy we substitute a nondairy yogurt and it’s still delicious.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon has been shown to help reduce blood sugar levels, and it’s really good for you.

I love the flavor that cinnamon adds to this smoothie, but if you’re not a fan you can leave it out.

Almond Milk

Almond milk is a great dairy-free alternative to cow’s milk. It’s also a good source of fiber and vitamins A and D.

Our dairy free son absolutely loves almond milk, so we use it a lot in smoothies. We especially love the Simply Almond and some vanilla almond milk brands.

How to Blend an Easy Peach Smoothie with Yogurt

Now that you know all about the amazing ingredients in this recipe, let’s talk about how to make it. It’s really easy, I promise!

Start by adding your peaches and banana to the blender. I break the banana in half and of course if you’re using a fresh peach you’ll need to remove the pit.

Next, add in the yogurt, cinnamon and almond milk. If you’re using a fresh banana you might want to add a couple of ice cubes at this point, too.

Blend everything until it’s smooth and creamy. If it’s too thick for your liking you can add a little more oat milk or water until it reaches the consistency you prefer.

Pour into glasses and enjoy!

If you have any leftovers, this smoothie freezes great to make smoothie pops later. Simply pour into popsicle molds and freeze. My kids love these as a healthy snack or dessert on a hot day!

How to Customize This Easy Peach Banana Smoothie Recipe

One of the best things about smoothies is how easy they are to customize to your liking. Here are a few ideas for customization.

Make it green: Add in a handful of spinach, kale, romaine or swiss chard. This won’t affect the flavor much at all (especially with spinach) and it adds a ton of nutrients such as folate, vitamin K and even more fiber.

Add more fruit: If you want a really fruity smoothie, try adding in some raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, pineapple or even a little mango. A strawberry peach smoothie or peach mango smoothie are both really good.

Make it sweeter: If you find that this recipe isn’t sweet enough for your liking, you can add a little honey, agave nectar, maple syrup or even a splash of 100% fruit juice. You can also use a sweeter yogurt such as vanilla or peach instead of plain.

Make it richer: If you want a richer, creamier smoothie you can add in some canned coconut milk, avocado or even nut butter such as peanut butter or almond butter. Just be aware that these additions will also add calories.

Turn it into a smoothie bowl: If you want to turn this smoothie into a meal or snack, try reducing the liquid and adding it to a bowl. Top with your favorite toppings. Some of our favorites are granola, chopped nuts, fresh fruit or even chocolate chips.

Add some superfoods: If you want to give this smoothie a little boost, try adding in some chia seeds, ground flaxseed, supergreens powder or even collagen peptides. These additions are great for your skin, hair and nails and they’ll also help keep you full longer.

Add extra protein: If you want to add some extra protein to this smoothie, try adding in a scoop of protein powder or even some additional Greek yogurt. This is especially good if you’re using this smoothie as a post-workout snack.

As you can see, there are endless possibilities when it comes to customizing this easy peach smoothie recipe. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
