Why We Love This Peach Mango Smoothie Recipe

We are huge fans of smoothies in our house and are always experimenting with different flavor combinations. My kids love when fresh peaches are in season and this year we really experimented with them.

This peach mango smoothie is:

  • Refreshing and perfect for summer
  • Made with just four simple ingredients
  • Quick and easy to make
  • Healthy and packed with nutrients

If you’re using fresh fruit like we did in this recipe, then you won’t even need extra liquid!

Ingredients in Our Healthy Smoothie Recipe

Peaches

Peaches are a big hit around here, especially when we snag a big box of them from the local peach orchard. Peaches are great sources of fiber, vitamins C and A, and potassium.

We used fresh peach in this recipe, but feel free to substitute frozen peach. Keep in mind if you use all frozen fruit you might need a bit of almond milk, coconut milk or the like to get it blending properly (and it will still be delicious).

Mango

Mangoes are another one of our favorite fruits and they pair so perfectly with peaches in this smoothie recipe! Mangoes are rich in vitamins A and C, as well as fiber and antioxidants.

We used fresh mango in this recipe as well, but most often we use frozen mango chunks in smoothies.

Greek yogurt

I love using Greek yogurt in smoothies because it adds a nice creamy texture and some protein to the mix. If you want to make this recipe vegan, you could substitute with a plant-based yogurt or even leave it out altogether and add a bit of plant based milk (although I think it does add something special).

You might need to add a bit of liquid if your blender can’t handle the fruit and yogurt mixture without more liquid. Just start with a splash and add more as needed.

We used plain Greek yogurt in our recipe, but you can easily add peach or mango yogurt (Chobani is a favorite of ours) or even vanilla yogurt.

Chia seeds

We often add chia seeds to our smoothies for an extra nutritional boost. Chia seeds are a good source of fiber, protein, omega-3 fatty acids, and antioxidants.

That being said, they are totally optional in this recipe and can be left out if you don’t have them on hand or don’t care for them.

How to Make the Best Mango Peach Smoothie

This recipe is so easy to make, you’ll have no excuse not to try it! Simply add all of the ingredients except the chia seeds to a high-powered blender and blend until smooth.

Then, add chia seeds and stir. (We wanted whole chia seeds in our recipe and our blender does such a good job it blends them right up!)

If your fruit is frozen, you might need to add a little liquid (coconut milk, almond milk, soy milk, water, coconut water, etc) to help it blend. Start with a few tablespoons and add more as needed.

Pour into glasses and enjoy!

Optional: Top with a sprinkle of chia seeds, granola or shredded coconut.

How to Customize This Easy Smoothie Recipe

Make it green: Add a handful of spinach, swiss chard or kale for a nutrient-rich smoothie. Greens really add a lot of nutrition for very few calories. If you aren’t used to green smoothies, start with a few leaves of spinach and work your way up to a cup or more. (Spinach is the best to start out with as it “hides” the best.)

Make it sweeter: If you find the fruit isn’t sweet enough for your taste, add a tablespoon or two of honey, agave syrup or maple syrup (to taste). You can also add a frozen banana, pineapple, some stevia or even monk fruit.

Make it thicker: If you want a thicker smoothie, add more yogurt or even a frozen banana. You could also add ice or oats to thicken your smoothie.

Make it thinner: If you want a thinner smoothie, add more liquid. This could be almond milk, coconut milk, water or even juice (if you don’t mind the extra sugar).

Make it dairy free: Omit the yogurt and use a plant-based yogurt alternative or just add more liquid. One of our sons is allergic to dairy so we substitute nondairy yogurt and milk for him all the time (in fact, most all of our smoothies are non dairy so we don’t have to make a special batch for anyone).

Make it a smoothie bowl: If you want to turn this into a smoothie bowl, simply pour it into a bowl and add your favorite toppings such as granola, fresh fruit, chia seeds or shredded coconut.

Make it protein packed: While the Greek yogurt does add a good amount of protein, to really supercharge the protein in this smoothie you could add a scoop of protein powder or almond butter.
